Research in the Roelke lab focuses on lower foodweb dynamics of aquatic ecosystems with emphasis on interactions between biotic processes and the physicochemical environment, non-linear dynamics arising from competition, and application of ecological theory towards better management of our natural resources. Our research approach encompasses field sampling and experimentation, use of laboratory microcosms, and numerical modeling. Our field research includes both inland and coastal systems, lentic and lotic envornments, and takes place in Texas, Venezuela, and Israel. Check out the links listed under Research Activities for a brief description of recent and ongoing projects. For a more detailed description of the lab’s research products download manuscript pdf files found under Publications. |
