Unless specified below, we do not collect personal information about users of this website. In particular, we do not use "cookies" to collect information. A cookie file contains unique information that a website can use to track such things as passwords, pages you have visited, the date you last looked at a specific page, and to identify your session at a particular website.
Information may be collected for site management functions. This information may be used to analyze trends; to create summary statistics for the purpose of determining technical design specifications; and to identify system performance or problem areas. Except as required by law, any information collected for these functions will be reported in such a way that will prevent identification of individual users.
Information collected from certain users of this website may include: (1) A user completed registration form entered by those users who wish to post job announcements or special event information or to view special databases; (2) The IP address, login date, web browser version, name and email address of users as they login to post job announcements or special event information or to view special databases; (3) User completed on-line forms and (4) User completed on-line survey's.
Information collected for the job board user database is kept in a secure area that is available to the webmaster and administrator only. Except as required by law, no information in the job board user database will be given to, sold to or exchanged with any person or agency without the written permission of the user. We will use the information in the user database to verify the identity of those posting job announcements, to contact users regarding a listing they posted or to send users information regarding the website.
Information entered by users completing a web based form is not stored in any way on the website. The information is maintained in memory on the website computer until the form is printed or emailed and is then purged.
Information entered by users as part of a web based survey may be collected and stored on the website. However, the identity of the user completing the survey will be kept only if the user volunteers the information as part of the survey.

If you maintain data on the WFSC web site (http://wildweb.tamu.edu), it falls under provisions of the Texas Administrative Code and must comply with Title 1, Part 10, Chapter 201, Rule §§201.12 (State Web Sites) of the code. The following requirements will keep our website in compliance.
Every image shall use an alt tag with sufficient information describing the image, or a null for simple images (e.g., a dot or bullet), so that a person unable to see the image can understand the content and meaning for its use. Except for geographic information systems, if image maps are used that do not comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines for persons with visual impairments, a text alternative shall be provided. Section b.1.A.
If you use frames you may not have any page that contains html coding that will cause persons with visual disabilities to be unable to access information on the page or make it very difficult to access information on the page or drop the frame(s) when indexing or pointing to other sites. Sections b.1.B, a.14 and a.15.
Any document image files (e.g. portable document format (pdf)) on the website, for which the associated reader does not fully support accessibility, shall also make available an accessible version of the same information. The document image version will include a link to obtain a free copy of the associated reader, and accessibility instructions. Excluded from this provision are: historical documents (e.g. documents dated prior to 1991 which is not in electronic format or documents dated prior to 1997 that contains a handwritten signature); documents for which the agency is not the original author; and document image files of forms that are not currently designed for electronic use. All web pages designed for children must comply with all applicable federal and state laws intended to protect minors. Section b.1.E.
All web pages, whether static or dynamic, must be accessible using generally available browser software, and be designed with consideration for the types of Internet connections available to the citizens of Texas. Section b.1.G.
All HTML documents on the web site that meet the criteria of a state publication shall include the following meta tags: Title: page topic or subject; Description: brief description of the subjects covered; Keywords: specific to the page subject, and should not exceed 25 words; and Author: State of Texas, the state agency and Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences. Section b.2.
All key public entry points shall provide links to the WFSC Net home page (http://wildweb.tamu.edu) and contact information. Use of the footers available from the webmaster will meet these requirements. Sections b.4 and a.11.
Prior to providing access to information or services the website that require user identification, you must conduct a transaction risk assessment, and implement appropriate security and privacy safeguards. At a minimum any web page that requires a user to enter both the individual's name and other personal information, such as their social security number; or transaction payment information; or an individual's identification code and password shall use a Secure Sockets Layer session or equivalent technology to encrypt the data. Sections b.5, a.20, a.25 and a.26.
